If you are a sole practitioner or work at a small to mid-size law firm, Simpli is built for you: the full eDiscovery workflow, from import to production, on a single desktop or client-server for your whole team, at a price you can budget for. Investigators and corporate compliance officers who value data sovereignty get the same advanced AI features, with everything processed on their own machines.
For the desktop app, a Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 12 (Monterey) or later, or a PC running 64-bit Windows 10 or later; the AI features also need a GPU. The desktop app needs no server. For a team, the client-server edition runs in-house or in your own private cloud: contact us to plan it.
Only to activate your licence and to download the components and AI models your edition includes. After that, your documents are processed on your own machines and are never sent to us, including when you use the AI features.
The AI models included with your edition run on your own machines for completely offline, secure processing. If you prefer, you can also connect models from providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic, using your own accounts and API keys. The provider bills you directly. Because those models run in the provider's cloud, the content you send to them leaves your machine: it goes straight from your device to the provider, never through us, and how the provider handles it is set by your own agreement with them.
Absolutely! We offer a Trial Installation so you can explore the full interface and features. The trial version includes a volume limit and watermarking on exports, allowing you to see exactly how Simpli handles your data before you make a decision.
Yes—because you keep it. The primary risk in eDiscovery is the 'transfer' phase where data moves to a third-party server. With Simpli, that risk is eliminated. Because the software processes data locally on your machine or within your own private network, you maintain 100% control over your evidence at all times. The flip side is that we hold no copy, so if a machine fails or is lost, your own backups are the only way to get your data back.

- What to back up: the Simpli data folder, which holds your cases and their databases: C:\Simpli on Windows, and on a Mac /Users/Shared/@Simpli, or Simpli in your home folder if you installed it for yourself only.
- How: use backup software that copies from a snapshot, such as Time Machine on a Mac or an image-based tool that uses Volume Shadow Copy on Windows, so the copy is consistent while Simpli is running. A plain copy of the folder taken while Simpli is working can miss recent changes.
- Where: keep the backups off the machine, on an external drive or another location you control, and check from time to time that you can restore from them.
